“to be chic is to be a little square”, is the basis for a little square’s shop. Working out of London this online shop is full of unique & special items. Some of my favorites are gorgeous play costumes, baby-sitter kits, baking kits, and Dumpling Dynasty Gift sets. I worked with a little square on these great Alphabulous tees for kids last year. All available through her site. Check it out- she has some really great stuff!

Holiday 08 Bake-a-thon! Comments Off

So this past Christmas season, b/c I’ve been home a lot (due to the lack of work!) I decided to get my bake on. This year I made Ina’s Chocolate Cake for my brother, Aron’s birthday, Cranberry-Pecan loaves (courtsey of Martha), and Cream Cheese Nut cookies. I know, it happened a few weeks back, but wanted to share a quick look at the goodies below…talk about a sugar high. Yum!

Have you ever seen a sunfish? Last fall, my friends  & I went to Monterey Bay Aquarium and met our first one. See pics of the silly creature here. This is my playful rendition on one of the funniest fishies I’ve ever seen! It was a gift for my dear friend this holiday.

This week – we decided to venture into Noe Valley to see the local shops and neighborhood. Enjoyed some delicious Peasant Pies (great cheap eats in SF!) on 24th – then walked over the most enchanted toy store ~ The Ark Toy Co. I very much enjoyed their really creative and whimsical window display with felted dolls-and hand crafted tree houses. Here are some pics from there! Felted dolls look like so much fun ~ found this great article here. I think this may be my next project!

Aussie’s Pretty Roototes Comments Off

Thanks to my friend “S”- I recently learned of Rootote Bags! This Aussie based company relies on simplicity, beauty and functionality to make a stellar product. They currently offer an array of sizes: Tall, Medium, Roo-shopper, Crutto, A-quatre & baby roo. In addition to their nifty ‘Roo’ pocket – I personally love their patterns and designs. Just ordered two bags (thanks to the US exchange rate) and am eagerly awaiting them!

New Year’s Eats! Comments Off

This year for New Year’s we had family over – our little house party if you will. On the menu – Tyler’s Pot Roast, Jacques’s Potatoes, & Rachael’s Olive Dip. The meat on the pot roast practically feel off the bones~ so yum. Topped it all off with some Pointesettas (champagne & cranberry juice!) and champagne with strawberries – it all made for a great meal. Cheers to 2009- YES WE CAN!
